"Big Picture" Seminar for High School Freshmen and All Newcomers

Reston Study Center offers a seminar series for high school freshmen and sophomores, aimed at helping young men take full advantage of their high school years in preparation for college and their future professional careers. The seminars will challenge the students to think about the kind of fathers, friends, citizens, and professionals they would like to be when they reach adulthood. Mr. Alvaro de Vicente, headmaster of The Heights School, will direct the "Big Picture" Seminar. All sessions will be held in the Reston Study Center's classroom on the 2nd Saturday of the month, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

"College Prep" Seminar for High School Upperclassmen

College Prep seminars will meet on the fourth Saturdays of the month. Each seminar will focus on intellectual questions of today's culture. The goal is to prepare students for the intellectual challenges of college. We will help them to understand more deeply key philosophical principles about God, man, morality, and the nature of truth, and to be prepared to explain them to others. Led by Pete Bancroft, science teacher at The Heights, and by David Monge, staffer at the National Organization for Marriage.
